A Week for Religious Freedom is celebrated by the FCEI member churches and the Italian Union of the Seventh-Day Adventist Churches (UICCA) around the 17th February, the day when king Carlo Alberto granted civil rights to the Waldensian minority in 1848.
Every year since 1998 the joint FCEI-UICCA Commission on Religious Freedom chooses a theme for the Week for Religious Freedom and publishes a book containing articles and essays by various authors on related topics.
Among the themes chosen in the last few years, we may mention: religious freedom in Italy; world debt; overcoming violence; faith and money; the Bible in Italy; bioethics; Church-State relationships.
The books published between 2004 and 2006 can be purchased from all Claudiana bookshops in Florence, Milan, Rome, Turin, Torre Pellice or can be ordered by contacting: Editrice Claudiana, via Principe Tommaso 1, 10125 Torino (tel. +39 011 66 89 804). The previous books can be ordered by contacting the FCEI.
