The Commission on Globalisation and the Environment (GLAM) was established in February 2001, replacing the previous Commission on Environment, with the aim of promoting awareness amongst the FCEI member churches of the problems concerning trade justice and the environment that the world in general and Christians in particular must face. The GLAM follows a call of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) in Debrecen 1997 and the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Harare 1998, to raise awareness and take action against the economic interests of an elite minority that may adversely affect the rights of the entire world population.
