The Churches' Commission on Dialogue with Islam (CCEDI) was established according to a resolution of the 13th FCEI General Assembly, in order to promote a dialogue between Protestants and Muslims in Italy, by contributing to the knowledge of Islam in our churches and reflecting upon the role of Islam in contemporary society.

The Commission aims at doing a theological reflection about the methods and objectives of dialogue with Islam, and at spreading the official documents of Christian-Muslim dialogue, especially those related with theology, pastoral care and practical activities. The Commission also aims at publishing a practical handbook about Islam.

A survey about the activities involving Muslims within the FCEI member churches, based on a questionnaire that has been sent to the local congregations, will be the staring point of the Commission's work.

The Commission hopes that the FCEI churches will engage in dialogue with Islam, believing that our churches are called to be peace-makers in their society, including in the particular context of Christian-Muslim dialogue.
